India’s First “Agri Doctor Movement” Launched

24 Agricultural Experts Mentor Around 300 Agriculture Students on a Single Day and at a Single Platform

Hyderabad, August 30, (Telangana Disha) : With the objective of introducing new career opportunities to agriculture students and developing experts capable of providing quality, field-level agricultural guidance to farmers, the “The Farmist Summit 2026” was organized by Navanirman Foundation at Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management in Bachupally, Hyderabad. The organizers announced that the summit marked the beginning of the “Agri Doctor Movement”, a first-of-its-kind initiative in India. The chief guest at the event was Advocate Sunkara Naresh, founder of Vennela Foundation. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he had come to the platform as a farmer’s son who understands the hardships faced by farmers. He emphasized that in the era of Artificial Intelligence, farmers should move beyond traditional methods, adopt technology, and adapt to changing agricultural practices in order to achieve better results. He said that situations from the past, such as the misuse of pesticides like Endrin, which became associated with both pest control and farmer deaths, should never be allowed to recur. He further observed that when the word “farmer” is searched on the internet, the image that often appears is that of a weak, distressed farmer looking towards the sky. He called for such stereotypical imagery to be immediately replaced with a more positive representation of farmers. He also encouraged young students to pursue agriculture and allied courses and explore the wide range of career opportunities available in the sector. As part of the summit, 24 experts, scientists, entrepreneurs, progressive farmers, representatives from the agribusiness sector, and career guidance professionals from agriculture and allied fields participated and addressed around 300 agriculture students and young agricultural professionals. The event was organized with the active involvement of Navanirman Foundation Founder and President Rambabu Ponnana, Vice-President Advocate Sai Jyothi U., and Jagadeeshwara Rao Ponnana, along with other members of the organization.
